My daughter (in the picture) is so excited to have her card in Hallmark stores all over the country and I'm excited too!
The morning that I took this photo, she was not in a good mood-obviously. She had her mind set on pink rolls (I don't know why she thought we had pink frosted cinnamon rolls) and she totally had a mental breakdown. I quickly grabbed my camera and got this shot that I planned on showing her when she was older to make her feel guilty for giving her mom such an evil look.
My mom told me about the Hallmark Contest and on a whim, I picked this one among the hundreds of photos I had and the little quote just came to me AFTER I uploaded it to the site. I typed it and sent it off and then I forgot about it!
I got a phone call on my answering machine a couple of weeks later saying that I was a finalist. I couldn't believe it! It was fun getting the prize money and our own flat of the card and a signed letter from the judges.
I don't know if I'll ever make it this far again and I'm ecstatic that our card will be in stores everywhere on April 6th. I'm hoping that one local tv station or paper will pick up my story too and than maybe other local Quad Cities residents will help me out by voting and/or buying.
If I could at least make the Fan Favorite that's going on right now, that would be great too!
